The Benefit of Wanting to Be Generous
In week two of "Pocket Change," Pastor Mark South teaches from 2 Corinthians 8:10–15 that Christian generosity is not mainly about the size of a gift but about a heart that truly wants to give. As he reflects on how real-life pressures, fears, and competing desires crowd the heart, he calls the church to remember its original desire to honor Christ, to see that God measures generosity by willingness rather than capacity, and to trust that generosity leads believers into deeper dependence on God's provision. The sermon also highlights the mutual care of the church and the manna story from Exodus 16 as reminders that God meets His people's needs as they walk in faith.
