God can't use me.

Exodus 4 confronts us with two critical misunderstandings that can cripple our spiritual effectiveness. First, we often believe God cannot use us because of our weaknesses and limitations. Moses argued with God, citing his inadequacies, his past failures, even his speech impediment. Yet God's response is stunning: He asks who made the mouth, who gives sight or hearing, who allows disabilities. God is sovereign over both our abilities and our disabilities, and He ordains them so that when we serve, people marvel at Him rather than us. The transformation of Moses' ordinary shepherd staff into the rod of God becomes a beautiful metaphor for our lives. When we submit our ordinary, limited selves to God's commands, He transforms us into statements of His power. The second misunderstanding is equally dangerous: believing God will use us even while we walk in deliberate disobedience. When God confronted Moses about his failure to circumcise his son, He revealed a non-negotiable truth: we cannot lead God's covenant people while disregarding His covenant in our own homes. This message calls us to examine four major roadblocks in our culture: sexual immorality, greed, bitterness, and idolatry. The beauty is that God's love meets us in our sins through the cross of Christ, but His love also demands our consecration. We are invited to bring our weaknesses and our sins to Jesus, to be cleansed and made fit for the extraordinary work He has planned for ordinary people like us.
