Outsiders Becoming Insiders
Pastor David introduces Living Stones’ core value of making outsiders insiders through 1 Peter 2:4–10. Because Christians were once outsiders who received mercy and became God’s people, the church is called to share the gospel by following Jesus’ example and Paul’s willingness to become all things to all people—laying down freedoms, removing unnecessary barriers, going to people, welcoming guests, and defending the vulnerable. Yet the goal is more than belonging or community: outsiders are invited to come to Christ, the rejected cornerstone, and be built together into a spiritual house and holy priesthood. The sermon warns comfortable religious insiders not to mistake familiarity with church for faith in Jesus, and points to Christ, who became an outsider so sinners could be brought in and made free.
