Stand Because the Writing Is on the Wall
Guest pastor Mike Rydman preaches from Daniel 5 on Belshazzar's feast, the writing on the wall, and the danger of proud, unrepentant defiance before God. Belshazzar desecrates the vessels from the Jerusalem temple, praises man-made gods, ignores what he knew from Nebuchadnezzar's humbling, and discovers that his power, religion, security, and kingdom cannot save him from God's judgment. Daniel stands before the king with the truth: God numbers kingdoms, weighs the proud, and brings down those who refuse to honor him. Mike calls the church to see our own need for repentance, to receive the heart of flesh promised in Ezekiel 11, and to stand in the gospel by believing Christ, repenting of sin, trusting God's timing, and sharing the hope of Jesus before the night is over.
