Stand Faithfully and Seek the Good of Your City
In week two of Daniel, Rick Walker preaches from Daniel 2 and calls God's people to stand faithfully while seeking the good of the city where God has placed them. As Daniel and his friends face Nebuchadnezzar's impossible demand, they do not withdraw, assimilate, or scheme for survival, but remember that they belong to God, seek mercy in prayer, and receive wisdom from the God who rules over kings and kingdoms. Rick urges the church to believe that God is with his people by the Spirit, to seek wisdom through Scripture and prayer, and to live for the good of Reno, Sparks, Spanish Springs, and every place God has planted them. Daniel's interpretation of the dream warns that every earthly kingdom will fall, but it also gives hope: Jesus is the stone who crushes the kingdoms of this world, saves those who surrender to him, and brings his people into an imperishable kingdom that will stand forever.
