When Greatness Falls and the Weak Stand
Pastor Mark preaches from Daniel 8 on why self-made greatness always falls while the weak are made to stand by the greatness of God. Mark traces Daniel's vision of the ram, the goat, and the little horn through Persia, Greece, Alexander the Great, and Antiochus, showing that every kingdom and every human attempt at permanence is borrowed power that cannot bear its own weight. He presses the church to see where we are standing in our own strength, where success has made us exposed, and where we are trusting kingdoms that will not last. In contrast, Daniel is overwhelmed, confused, and unable to stand, yet God has already arranged what he needs, commands what he will supply, and raises him up by grace. The sermon calls believers to rest in Christ's unbreakable greatness, receive God's sustaining touch, and return to the King's business even when we do not yet understand everything.
